Key Requirements:

  • Good/clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 85 pounds (weight of one tandem kayak)
  • Personable and able to provide great customer service
  • At least some experience pulling a trailer

Job Description:

We are looking for a reliable Kayak Shuttle Driver to join our team for the summer season. The primary responsibility of this position is driving our shuttle van and trailer to transport kayaks and customers to and from launch points. Additionally, you will be required to provide a brief safety orientation to participants before they embark on their trip.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive and maintain a 15-passenger van with trailer to transport kayaks and customers to and from launch points.
  • Safely load and unload kayaks, securing them for transport.
  • Provide a brief safety orientation to participants, ensuring they understand basic paddling techniques, safety protocols, and expectations for their trip.
  • Assist with kayak shuttle logistics, ensuring smooth operations and timely transportation.
  • Ensure all equipment is well-maintained, clean, and functional before and after trips.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization at launch points, shuttle vehicles, and all trip locations.
  • Ability to assist paddlers if they have an issue on the water.
  • Act as a positive ambassador for Forward Outdoor, promoting our mission of wellness and outdoor recreation.

Optional Duties (if interested):

  • Lead kayak trips, providing additional safety briefings, paddling instructions, and ensuring an enjoyable experience for participants.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in kayaking or outdoor recreation is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, with 1-3 shifts per week.

Additional Information:

  • This is a part-time, seasonal role (1-3 shifts per week).
  • We offer both public tours and private experiences, including team-building events and special occasions.
  • Training will be provided for the right candidate.
