Sunset Kayaking – Lakeshore State Park

Join us for a peaceful evening paddle as the sun dips below the Milwaukee skyline. This beginner-friendly kayaking outing launches from the calm inlet at Lakeshore State Park and offers a front-row seat to golden hour over Lake Michigan.

We’ll provide everything you need—kayak, paddle, and life jacket—so all you have to do is show up, breathe in the fresh air, and soak in the views. Whether you’re winding down after work or looking for a midweek adventure, this is the perfect way to connect with nature in the heart of the city.

Ability Level: Beginner friendly (This is unguided, you are free to explore the protected area inside the breakwater)

What to Bring: Shoes and clothing that can get wet and are appropriate for the day’s weather conditions, towel, water, snacks, sunscreen, bug spray, dry clothes for after.
Bathrooms: There are no bathrooms at the beach area, but there is a porta potty on the north side of the island by the boat docks, about a 5 minute walk from the beach.
Meeting Location: Lakeshore State Park Beach, 500 N Harbor Dr, Milwaukee. You will need to park either on the street or at one of the parking garages by Discovery World or Milwaukee Art Museum, then walk approximately 8-10 minutes to meet us by the beach.
